if you miss someone who does not miss you, or who is no good for you, or is unattainable, take all the love you once felt for them and spread it around other places. put your love in worthwhile people and things, turn the romance in to passions for hobbies or admiration for others- enrich your own life. focus on yourself and those who actively make you happy.

We are thrilled to announce that we are launching a new award/grant initiative named after the late, great Walter Dean Myers:

The Walter Dean Myers Award, which WNDB representatives have already nicknamed The Walter, will recognize published authors from diverse backgrounds who celebrate diversity in their writing and “[allow] children to see themselves reflected back” in those works

Read more about the initiative and check out our snazzy new logo in our exclusive to PW!

To quote Lee & Low, it’s really impressive to see how the We Need Diverse Books team has turned “a hashtag into real, substantial change in a very hard-to-change industry.” There is, of course, a LONG LONG LONG LONG way to go, but WNDB’s consistent, committed activism is truly awesome, and I’m very excited for The Walter and more changes to come.

Reblog if your cramps have ever

  • made you vomit
  • lasted between 2-3 days
  • stopped you from being able to walk or run
  • made you cry

It’s not considered a viable excuse on any occasion, and I would like to know why.

add

  • woken you up at night the pain was so bad

also

  • made you pass out

don’t forget

  • made you unable to stand up without doubling over and grabbing onto the closest object for support

Cramps are not meant to be like this. If your cramps are affecting your day-to-day life, you should consult your physician about birth control/other options to reduce your pain.
